Job Description:

Well-known, plaintiff’s law firm, is seeking an attorney to join their team in Austin, Tx.  The firm helps sick families recover from the companies and governments that made them sick.  The firm focuses primarily on toxic exposure (clean air and clear water) and have an active docket in Texas and around the country.

The firm is building a new and different kind of Personal Injury Firm.  They have found extraordinary success and growth since their opening just 3 years ago! They succeed by focusing on their clients and their experiences with the justice system.  The attorneys help their clients take a stand against the institutions that poisoned them.  The firm’s work has started a movement of survivors around the country!  In addition to their toxic exposure cases in Texas, NC, and FL, the firm currently represents over 7,500 clients in an FTCA case against the Navy for the contamination of the drinking water in Hawaii.

This new position will focus primarily on federal exposure cases.  They will have a six-figure base salary, a strong benefit package, and an industry leading contingent-fee sharing compensation.  There will be no compensation caps, and successful candidates will have a large upside.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Write persuasive offers of settlement, complaints, motions, and responses to motions.
  • Manage a docket of firm cases + assist on larger mass exposure cases.
  • Discuss potential cases with clients referred from their intake team to evaluate whether they have a viable case that fits with their mission statement.
  • Negotiate with opposing counsel on discovery and settlement.
  • Provide legal advice directly to the clients and help them navigate the claims and legal process.
  • Craft legal strategy in response to litigation and supervise litigation activities.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience as a licensed, practicing attorney.
  • Organized, self-starter.
  • Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives.
  • Excellent judgment and analytical skills.
  • First class interpersonal and communication skills.
  • J.D. degree
  • Member in good standing of their respective state bar.
