Job Description:

High-profile, large global law firm is seeking a Litigation Professional Assistant to provide high-level legal and administrative assistance to the Healthcare Practice Group which includes Partners/Associates in a busy practice area.  Successful candidate will anticipate needs, demonstrate interest in and assist with a wide variety of administrative, litigation and regulation issues.  Ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience within a law firm.  A successful history of supporting a legal group with a complex billing practice is required!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative support including travel arrangements, file management, meeting coordination, calendar management and processing of T&E.  Must meet deadlines while balancing multiple priorities.
  • Efficiently coordinate billing responsibilities of practice group including time entry, paperless proformas, edits, and e-billing; contribute to overall efficiency of difficult and complex billing process; must have solid understanding of legal billing cycles and requirements.
  • New business intake; submit conflict searches and new client/matter information.
  • Create and maintain files/notes, record keeping and information systems in conjunction with firm standards and attorney requirements.
  • Communicate as needed, with clients, outside counsel, vendors and agencies.
  • Maintain and utilize contacts of attorneys using Interaction contacts software.
  • Work proactively to support the accomplishment of firm key tasks and initiatives; complete special projects as directed.
  • Support other attorneys and practice groups as needed.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience with healthcare background supporting Partners/Associates within a law firm setting.
  • Legal billing background with solid knowledge of processes and procedures.
  • Technical expertise in Microsoft Office and document management systems, experience with iManage, ChromeRiver, 3E Billing preferred.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Extraordinary attention to details; comfortable in self-directed environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently or as a member of a team.
