JOB DESCRIPTION

High-profile, Personal Injury Law Firm, is also a Nationally recognized leader in plaintiffs’ personal injury trial law is seeking a Controller for their North Dallas office. Their attorneys combine decades of experience and personal dedication to clients with a proven record of success in litigating complex and high-profile cases in Texas and across the United States. The firm helps individuals and families nationwide pursue real financial recovery after another’s negligence causes an accident or medical mistake that results in serious personal injury or wrongful death.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsible for preparation, review and anlysis of financial reports.
Perform month-end close responsibilities, such as journal entries, account reconciliations, reporting and analysis.
Accurate and timely preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss Statements, and various detailed analyses reports.
Implement system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
Review inter-company transactions.
Review and reconcile General Ledger.
Prepare spreadsheet for Line of Credit.
Oversee credit card reconciliations.
Oversee ledger reconciliation and manage AP/AR and client settlement disbursements.
Directly supervise employee’s deadlines.
Maintain accounting controls.
Prepare Year-End Financials for outside Tax accountants.

Qualifications:

CPA- 3-10 years. Legal experience preferred but not required.
Management experience required.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines.
