Job Description:

Small, but growing law firm, recognized for their experience in litigating, trying and appealing cases in Federal and State Courts, is seeking a Commercial Litigation Paralegal to support various attorneys in all phases of litigation, including case management, court filings, document review and production, drafting and responding to discovery, deposition and trial preparation, cite-checking, preparation and attendance at trials.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation from case initiation through trial.
  • Assist with calendaring case deadlines.
  • Assist with and draft court filings and preparations in federal courts and Texas state courts.
  • Assist with document collection, organization, review, and productions.
  • Assist with drafting and responding to discovery requests.
  • Proofread court briefs and discovery documents.
  • Assist with deposition, meeting, or interview preparations.
  • Assist with all aspects of trial and arbitration preparations.
  • Ability to travel and attend trials and arbitrations.
  • Cite-check references and/or caselaw in briefs.
  • Prepare various charts and indices.
  • Coordinate with external vendors.
  • Perform various day-to-day case management tasks.
  • E-filing with the various courts.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and a strong attention to detail.
  • Flexible and able to multi-task, balancing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Proactive and able to handle efficiently multiple projects and client matters.
  • Must possess strong and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior analytical and reasoning abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or PL Certificate is a plus!
  • 5+ years of relevant commercial litigation experience required.
  • Proficient with Texas and Federal Rules of Procedure.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook and Adobe.
  • Experience with e-Discovery Databases, Relativity, Live Note, or other software.

Compensation & Benefits:

The firm provides an excellent benefit package along with end of year bonus/raise, paid parking, etc. This is an onsite position.  There is not a required billable amount!

Salary range:  $90,000-$110,000 DOE!
