Job Description:

Established Dallas based law firm that is specifically positioned to serve business clients with multiple legal needs, is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Litigation Associate with 2-3 years of experience to join their dynamic legal team.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial disputes and litigation, excellent research and writing skills and experience managing cases through various stages of litigation.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will be primarily responsible for the following responsibilities and will be expected to have experience sufficient to handle the following matters with minimal supervision:

  • Assist in handling complex commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, business torts, fraud, and other corporate litigation.
  • Draft and file pleadings, motions and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
  • Participate in discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, document requests, and depositions.
  • Attend court hearings, arbitrations, and mediations.
  • Collaborate with shareholders and senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
  • Stay up to date on changes in commercial litigation laws and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Active Texas Bar membership.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Commercial Litigation, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating complex legal documents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • High ethical standards and professional integrity.
